PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Once he knows someone well, Darlington's way more likely to be verbally affectionate or complementary than he is physical (unless you're specifically in a romantic relationship with him). That said, go ahead and try--probably the worst that will happen is that he's extremely awkward about it.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Darlington tries to avoid a physical fight when he can, but the boy is in great physical shape and canonically boxes, fences (which isn't the same as swordfighting, I know, but...close), and has studied Brazilian jujitsu. He may not remember that he knows those things, but in terms of strength, he can most likely still hold his own in a fight, if it comes to it.

In his demon form, he’s considerably stronger and canonically much more likely to engage in a physical altercation, though all the fights we see are against those who’d wish him/his friends harm, so…we’ll say they deserved it. Demon Darlington’s a good one to have in a fight, perhaps even more so than human Darlington. It all depends on what the situation needs, I suppose!

ROMANCE/FLIRTING: For this game, I'm open to seeing what happens, but have no thoughts about actively chasing a romantic ship of one kind or another, if that makes sense? Darlington will 100% need friends, though, so please let's start working on that!

SEXUAL CONTENT: Again, not actively seeking a ship, but I’m open to seeing where things go and have no issue with threading out sexual content! Since returning from Hell, Darlington’s a little more in touch with his, uh, appetites (which, as the book notes “are not entirely wholesome”), so if things start trending in that direction, it’ll be interesting to see how it all develops.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES: For all his magical knowledge, he has no means of shielding his thoughts from psychics, and probably even less than that now that he has no memories. If you have questions as to what someone might glean in a given situation, and it's not clear within the narration of a tag, please ask!

MEDICAL INFORMATION: He's in great physical condition and works out to an absurd degree (the aforementioned boxing/fencing/martial arts, plus he typically runs six miles a day, it's revolting). Again, does he remember any of this? No, but his health remains great anyway.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS THAT MAY COME UP: Depending on the thread and what Darlington remembers at a given point, there may be discussion (within narration and/or dialogue) of: Darlington's childhood of neglect and abandonment; the time he was drugged without his consent by one of the societies; his grandfather's prolonged death from cancer and Darlington’s own, largely coerced, part in hastening his end; various gory details of magical rites and rituals (for example, there is one society that specializes in divination using the entrails of a living subject, and another that has a history of raising the dead).

Ninth House and Hell Bent also have several more content warnings attached to them (most notably sexual assault and drug addiction/overdose), but these are the most relevant to where Darlington's coming from. If there's anything you need me to avoid, or if you need more information, please let me know. I love these books and want more people to read and enjoy them, but they deal with a lot of heavy subjects.

BACKTAGGING: I guess this is the same as slowtagging, kind of? I'm very, very fine with this, especially as I’m a pretty slow tagger myself! If it's been an exceptionally long time between tags, it may be that I've lost the energy of the thread, but if there's something you'd like to keep going, please know that you can always ping me here/on plurk/over DM and let me know.

Additionally, I’m always here for handwaving as needed, both in the "let's decide how the rest of this thread went" context and the "our characters' preexisting relationship means that it's reasonable to assume [insert general plot point here] happened before the narrative action of this post/toplevel/tag" context. If there's anything major to handwave in either instance, let's talk about it, but small things are okay to just roll with.

FOURTH WALLING: I don’t know what this is! If we’re talking about, like, some kind of Frank Underwood-esque “character turns towards the camera to address the audience” thing, then maybe not? If it’s just a kind of winking dramatic irony-type nod in narration, then that feels fine to me. If fourthwalling is a secret third thing that’s completely different, though, let me know.

THREADHOPPING: Almost all of my previous RP experience has been in games where uninvited threadhopping was viewed as a complete non-starter (and sometimes grounds for a warning or other intervention by the mods). I will never crash a thread without an explicit invitation or agreement from the people already involved in the thread, and would prefer that no one come into a thread I currently have going on without first talking it over with me.

With that said, I love planning out multi-character threads when the opportunity presents itself in a given plot or post, so please don’t think I only ever want to do one-on-one threads! I just need to know everyone involved is in agreement and we all want to be there.

CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: I'm up for playing out pretty much anything (especially if I know you well). I get grossed out about eyes and eye trauma, but it's not so bad that I need to avoid it entirely if it comes up as a relevant thing within the context of a thread–just give me a heads up or a warning!

CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Nothing that comes to mind!

ANYTHING ELSE: I fit tags in when and where I can--I'm most active in the evenings and on weekends, and tend to tag in batches (so if we have multiple threads going and you get tags on all of them within seconds of each other, that’s why). I'm also not as fast as some players, especially since I’m trying to get back into the habit of writing after losing all motivation for it for…a long time. Rapid-fire boomeranging may happen if I'm really in the zone and depending on the content of the thread, but for the most part it gives me a lot of anxiety!
